Magellanic Clouds Size

Hi there,

Just wondering, has anyone come up with a good way of showing the Magellanic Clouds in 1.5?

I occasionally do talks on the southern skies; and it looks odd when they are missing...

Many thanks

Greetings Alex,

You can artificially increase the size of the polygons of the Tully galaxies to make them show up. The does it for all of the galaxies in the Tully survey however, but since it is based on distance you should be able to make out the LMC and SMC easier.

In order to do this. Go to the object tree and select Tully Galaxies.

In the properties tab, make sure that Visibility is set to ON and uncheck the Render Points box and check the Render Polys box.

Then under the property slider, select polysize from the drop down menu. Then set the numerical value to somewhere around 0.0002 or 0.0003. You can obviously adjust this number up and down to get it to look just right to you.
